Quietly Stirring Into Life

In the mildest winter I can remember, the garden is still dormant and bare, but everywhere there are quiet stirrings of life.  Roses put out fresh optimistic new shoots, alliums and narcissi and hyacinths force their way up through barely chilled soil, a profusion of small green things are growing busily in the polytunnel, and everywhere are pretty clumps of snowdrops, little splashes of white against the brown and green.

Lovely images by Kit Young Photography.
